The Quest for Emergence website is owned by John-Michael Dumais (collectively hereafter, “I” “me,” or “myself”), and I use a number of third-party services listed below (together with myself, collectively referred to hereafter as “we”). I take user privacy seriously and make reasonable efforts to protect it. I have created this Privacy Policy (hereafter “Policy”) in order to share with you my information collection and use practices. As more clearly defined herein, I will never knowingly sell or assign your personal information without your knowledge and/or approval. Please read this Policy carefully before sharing any personally identifiable information described below.
By using, registering or placing an order on or through this website, you consent to the collection, use and transfer of your information under the terms of this policy. Since this is a growing web site and because Internet technologies are constantly evolving, this Policy is subject to change at any time and any changes will be posted on this page.
For the purposes of full disclosure, I currently make use of the following third-party tools for managing my business, buying and selling products, scheduling appointments, holding meetings and consultations, and email communications. These third parties are:
- Genesis Digital
- Acuity Scheduling
- PayPal
- Skype
I will to the best of my knowledge and ability describe what you can expect in terms of privacy from my use of these third-party tools, and include links to their online privacy policies and terms and conditions policies where available (see below). However, I explicitly rescind any responsibility for the implementation of these policies by these third parties themselves, and for any future changes they may make to such policies as I have no control over, input to, nor any way of consenting to, such changes or implementations. To the best of my knowledge, none of these websites will knowingly sell or assign your personal information without your knowledge and/or approval.
For the purposes of collecting and organizing my email subscriber list, sending subscriber emails such as newsletters and product or service confirmations, selling products and services and issuing refunds, delivering products such as digital downloads, delivering online webinars and courses, and for membership/subscription services as may be provided to or purchased by you, the end-user, I make use of the third-party tools provided by Genesis Digital, which include WebinarJam.com, EverWebinar.com and Kartra.com. Their complete privacy policy can be found at https://www.genesisdigital.co/_legal/privacypolicy.php, and their terms and conditions can be found at https://www.genesisdigital.co/_legal/terms.php. When you engage with me to opt in to a newsletter, register for a webinar or course, or purchase product or service, you are doing so directly through my account I hold with these end-services, and not through an account directly with these services.
I make use of PayPal as a payment gateway. Their privacy policy can be found here https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full. You do not have to be a registered user of PayPal in order to make payments with credit or debit cards for products and services you may purchase through me. If you choose to register with PayPal, you may expect to receive marketing and promotional emails from them.
I make use of Acuity Scheduling (http://acuityscheduling.com) for online appointment scheduling. Their privacy policy is available at https://acuityscheduling.com/privacy.php. Their policy explicitly states that they will not “otherwise sell, rent, trade or exchange any personally-identifying information of our Users.” In this case, “users” would be considered people who register with Acuity Scheduling in order to save their personal information and preferences. Please note that such registration is not necessary as a precondition of using Acuity Scheduling calendars when you are scheduling appointments with me. If you choose to register with Acuity Scheduling, you may expect to receive marketing and promotional emails from them.
I make use of Google’s Gmail platform for most of my individual business email communication. You can find Google’s privacy policy and terms and conditions at https://www.google.com/policies/. Please know that you are not required to be a Gmail user in order to communicate with me. You are, however, subject to the privacy policy and terms and conditions of your own personal email provider.
I make use of Skype for online individual and small-group video communications. Skype’s privacy policy and terms and conditions can be found at https://www.skype.com/en/legal/.
